Basement/Cellar Conversions

Usually completed using both a cavity drain membrane and sump and pump system; to stop and control water ingress and general dampness within the cellar or basement area of a property.

Our basement or cellar conversion service includes a complete damp and water ingress proofing solution, including professional fitting of cavity drain membranes; a heavily studded polyethylene sheets which are impervious to water and damp, and in areas prone to flooding; instillation of sump and pump systems to remove ground water.

Cavity drain membranes do not allow pressure to build up against the internal construction. This allows the structure to breath and helps to dry out.

The cavity drain membranes are fixed to the walls using special plugs and sealing materials with no or little preparation, unlike traditional basement tanking. Once the membrane is installed the wall surfaces can be dry-lined or plastered.

Floors can be screeded or a floating dry board system used. Where pump & sumps are used these will all be linked up to the membrane by means of an aqua channel system.

What we do

Utilising these systems, our basement or cellar conversion service is extremely effective for penetrating damp and for basements in known areas prone to flooding.

There are many membrane systems available for specific problems and so following a thorough survey of the property we can ascertain which system is suitable for your needs.
